Inkluded Announces Partnership with the Publishing Certificate Program and Humanities Internships Program at City College

New York, NY (February 10, 2026) — Inkluded is proud to announce a partnership with two unique programs at The City College of New York (CCNY): the Publishing Certificate Program and the Humanities Internships Program. This partnership will launch the Inkluded Internship Program that will be available to Publishing Certificate Program participants. Those selected for the internship program will receive financial support from the college’s Humanities Internships Program. Through this collaboration, Inkluded will also host a series of special publishing-focused events for CCNY MFA students, reflecting our shared commitment to educational access, diversity, and expanding pathways into professional careers.

The Inkluded Internship Program, designed by Cecilia Gray, Director of Operations at Inkluded, and supported by Athena Devlin, Director of the Publishing Certificate Program, and Marisa Hollywood, Director of the Humanities Internships Program, reflects Inkluded’s core mission to educate and empower young people interested in the publishing industry by providing meaningful opportunities to succeed. Through this program, interns will:

  • Gain hands-on professional experience within a publishing-centered nonprofit organization

  • Contribute to mission-driven work that supports diversity and inclusion in publishing

  • Receive mentorship from publishing professionals and opportunities to build their professional networks

The program is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice, offering interns exposure to the skills, workflows, and relationships that define careers in publishing. And through the support of the Humanities Internships Program at CCNY, it also guarantees that student interns are financially compensated for their time.

“Launching an internship program was a strategic priority I introduced when I first joined Inkluded’s leadership team in 2024. Like Inkluded Academy, this internship program is rooted in Inkluded’s belief that education must be paired with real-world experience and mentorship to prepare young people for careers in publishing,” said Gray. “As internships remain a critical and highly competitive entry point into the industry, I’m thrilled to be able to create an additional, accessible pathway for emerging talent. I’m eternally grateful to Athena Devlin and Marisa Hollywood for helping make this program possible, and I’m excited to welcome our interns this spring.”

In addition to the internship program, Inkluded will host three special events for students in CCNY’s Publishing Certificate and MFA programs. While CCNY already offers a robust publishing curriculum and strong industry network, Inkluded’s programming is designed to complement that foundation by addressing industry-related questions critical to bolstering students’ ability to succeed professionally: how to build a sustainable publishing career, how publishing operates from an author’s perspective, and how to make a publishing salary feasible long-term. These discussions are centered on transparency, career navigation, and the realities of working in the industry.

“I am thrilled that the Publishing Certificate Program and Inkluded have formed this exciting partnership. We both understand and have seen the value that creating and sustaining more diversity in publishing brings to the industry,” said Dr. Devlin. “This partnership will create new opportunities for our students and shines a light on all the amazing work Inkluded is doing. I am truly grateful to Cecilia Gray for her work and commitment to building this partnership. And a very special thanks to the director of CCNY’s Humanities Internships Program, Dr. Marisa Hollywood. Without her support, the internships at Inkluded would not be possible.”

By partnering with CCNY, Inkluded continues to engage with aspiring publishing professionals directly and expand the network of young people who it supports as they prepare to enter the field. Inkluded is deeply grateful to CCNY for its partnership and collaboration on initiatives that align closely with both organizations’ missions.
